Flickr Apps

While having a look at flickr we were to have a look at some of the apps in the app garden, i really  really liked  Spooky Camera an app by TRKennedy3 it was just a silly cute app that lets you put halloween themed images on your photo on iphone , as you take the photo and then lets you upload straight to flickr. it was just too cute looking :-)

Delicious

In class today as well as  having a look at Flickr and posting a picture, we also had a look at delicious, I really liked the site and the fact that you can share some really interesting sites (in this case the wonderful blogs created by my class mates) and  you can share them with everyone. I also liked seeing what people had tagged some of the othere sites as, luckily it wasn't what i was expecting, a massive site with no way of finding anything interesting as all the people who think it i hiliarious to name things after rude words had decided to tag everthing as @$%(&$QW% glad to see most of the worlds maturity level is a bit higher :-).

Flickr Photo

This is a photo that i took of the Polytechnic Learning Centre and then posted on my brand new Flickr account. My account which i made for class today was fun to have a look around at and learn how to use, as i had done it for a previous unit ... But i forgot how to use it  :-).
Once i got the hang of using it again (with a little help from the fabulous Laura Unsworth, i am  not afraid to ask for help when needed) the site was a lot easier to use and i had fun uploading the pictures for our in class assignment.

Today's Class 19/03/2012 (CULLB003 & CULLB602C)

Today in class we did RSS feeds, as part of the class we have to answer these three questions about RSS feeds.

1. What do you like about RSS & newsreaders?
Answer: I like the fact that i can just go to Google Reader and see all the blogs that i am interested in without having to go to more than one site, they are all just there for me to see. I also like the fact that it tells me how many new posts there are to read.

2.How do you think you might be able to use this technology in your personal life?
Answer: I will be able to follow all the blogs from my class without having to check all the time whether there are any new posts on each one, I can just go to my Google Reader and  it will tell me. :-)

3.How can libraries use RSS or take advantage of this technology?
Answer: Libraries could use RSS as having a quicker way for their patrons to go to specific pages of their site that they are interested in i.e.by having an author of the week or book of the week page, and having RSS  attached to the page so that people can follow wiothout having to go to the site all the time, they will know when the new post has come up via their Rss Reader.
